7 positive risk factors:
Family History – any heart disease or sudden death before 55 yrs of age in father or other male first-degree relative (brother), or before 65 yrs of age in mother or other first degree relative (sister).
Cigarette Smoking – current cigarette smoker or those who quit within the previous 6 months.
Hypertension – Systolic blood pressure of greater or equal to 140mm Hg or diastolic blood pressure greater or equal to 90mm Hg, or on antihypertensive medication.
Hypercholesterolemia – Total serum cholesterol > 200 mg/dL or high-density lipoprotein cholesterol < 35mg/dL rather than a total cholesterol of > 200mg/dL.
BAD Total: >200
LDL >130
HDL < 35
Impaired fasting glucose – fasting blood glucose of > or equal to 100 mg/dL (lots of sugar in blood)
Obesity – BF% > 30%; BMI > 30; waist > 40 inches (men), >35 inches (women)
Sedentary Lifestyle - < 30 min of general activity per day
1 negative risk factor
High Serum HDL Cholesterol (Good Cholesterol) - > 60 mg/dL
